Postgraduate Dissertation

As part of my master's degree in Global Marketing, I was required to complete a dissertation. The topic was citizen communication channel selection in the public sector. I attempted to established citizen habits in communicating with government service providers and preferences between different demographics. Due to the Covid-19 primary data collection became restricted and I had to create a unique methodology. I used a communications datasets provided by East Sussex Highways and utilized spatial analysis techniques with Census data to profile different communities. The full dissertation can be found here.

TYMS Global Marketing Competition

During my master's degree, I led a team to win The York Management School Global Marketing competition. We were tasked with creating a sustainability campaign for a cosmetics brand. We had to prepare a five-minute presentation and could only have five slides of content. We chose to develop a strategy for L'Oreal Botanéa - a sustainable hair toner brand for professionals. Our plan was to reposition the brand for retail and utilize blockchain in the supply chain as a marketing strategy to provide credibility to the sustainability claims. We achieved a mark of 87%.

Undergraduate Dissertation

For my undergraduate degree, I completed a multidisciplinary dissertation involving both economics and politics. I conducted an econometric analysis to determine the effects of the level of democracy on a nation's theme park industry. This was an 'out of the box' idea and I had overcome many challenges to create a robust methodology. Ultimately, I found that in middle-income countries, countries with a lower democracy index build more roller coasters. I achieved a mark of 83%

Orienteering YouTube Channel

My Brother and I run one of the most popular orienteering based YouTube channels. We currently have the world's most viewed video on the platform with three hundred thousand views. My responsibilities include: creating assets to establish a consistent channel brand; helping develop scripts and ideas for videos; assisting in video production; presenting in videos; and managing the channel page.

I enjoy athletics and in particular cross country and orienteering. I am a member of York Athletics Club and my achievements include:

  • Junior British Champion, Sprint Orienteering

  • 4-times Junior Southern Orienteering Champion

  • Awarded full colours at university for representing the university at athletics and demonstrating outstanding commitment
